Exchanges & Returns

We want you to love your Deadbroke Denim. If the fit isn’t quite right, we’ve made returns and exchanges as simple, fair, and transparent as possible.

You can exchange your jeans for a different size or return them for a refund or store credit, within 15 days of delivery.

Eligibility: Jeans must be unworn, unwashed, free of stains, odours, or pet hair, and the try-on ribbon must be intact to qualify for return or exchange. Requests must be placed within 15 days of order delivery. $8 flat rate shipping applies to all Returns/Exchanges.

How Returns & Exchanges Work:

1) Submit your request through our Returns & Exchanges Portal and choose either an exchange or a return

2) Ship your jeans

  • US Domestic: Drop off your package at your selected carrier.
  • International: Customers must arrange return shipping and are responsible for all duties, taxes, and fees. Please share your tracking information and follow your country’s Return of Merchandise guidelines (Int'l and Canadian details below).

Note: Returns and Exchanges must be shipped in the original packaging, or they may incur additional carrier fees ($6-9). These fees will be passed on to the customer.

3) After we receive your jeans

  • Exchanges:
    • US Domestic: Complete the $8 flat return shipping invoice. This helps us share the cost of shipping so we can continue offering easy, accessible exchanges without inflating product prices. A prepaid return label will be provided. Your replacement pair ships as soon as your invoice is complete.
    • International: Outbound shipping will be invoiced. Once paid, your exchange ships. Duties and taxes are the customer’s responsibility.
  • Returns: Store credit is issued as soon as jeans are processed. Store credit never expires. Refunds can take 5-10 days to be processed. The $8 exchange/return fee will be deducted from the total.

Returning or Exchanging from Outside the US:

How to Prepare Your International Package:

Be sure to check with your carrier before shipping your parcel. Remember that all duties and taxes are the responsibility of the customer and you may be billed accordingly. We recommend taking the following steps to minimize the chance of lost parcels or unfounded duties.

  1. Use a USPS Partner (e.g., AusPost, Canada Post)
  2. Select "Return of Merchandise" on the customs form. This tells customs the jeans are returning to the original seller and should not be taxed.
  3. Use this description: Womens denim jeans, return of USA goods.
  4. Declare the original value: 150 USD. Customs requires a value for their records. This will not create duties when the shipment is marked as a return.
  5. Add the HS code: 6204.62. This is the code for denim jeans and helps prevent misclassification.
  6. Choose DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) if the option appears. This helps avoid surprise fees.
  7. Attach all customs forms and keep your tracking number for your records.
  8. Share your tracking number with us so we can watch for your return and process your exchange or return as soon as it arrives.
  9. Pay the shipping fee once your jeans are processed so that we can send your jeans home!

Canadian Orders 🍁: If you are returning a pair of jeans from Canada, there are a few important steps to follow. These steps help ensure that your package is treated as a true return of merchandise and is not charged duties or brokerage fees at the border.

  • Deadbroke Denim jeans are proudly made entirely in North America and therefore are compliant with USMCA (also known as NAFTA). They should not be subject to any duties when returning or receiving from Canada.
  • Use Canada Post: Please ship your return through Canada Post. Canada Post hands the package to USPS, which is the most reliable way to bring a package back into the United States without duties. We do not recommend using DHL, UPS, or FedEx for returns unless you are experienced with export paperwork. These carriers often miscode returns and charge unnecessary fees.
